Sail away... | Mermaid Stilettos

Sail away...

Just writing this post makes me smile and feel the warmth on my skin. I'm currently sitting in bed in my studio apartment in NYC after a long day of work then errands- And these photos are having me reminiscing on last weak's adventure I'm so thankful for (and may be peeling from).
For spring break, I decided to head home to Palm Beach. I wasn't up for a cruise to Mexico or music festivals (too broke)- I was ready for some good food, family time and lots of sun. After all, it was my last few days in FL before packing up to move to NYC. My dads friend has a 60ft sailboat and invited us aboard for a great 24 hours! It was the highlight of the break. We drove down to Miami early evening, got dinner, and spent the night on the boat... don't worry there was plenty of sleeping room (3 beds). We made sure to bring plenty of food, drinks, towels, cameras, etc. You'd think we were sailing for days. I packed my favorite new L*Space suit, some Island Company lotion, a light and breezy cover up, and a sweater for the evening sail home. After waking up at sunrise, we sail for Boca Chita Key in Biscayne bay Miami.

It was a smooth day and only took about 2.5 hours to arrive. Boca Chita is a national park with beautiful blue waters surrounding it. I sure did not feel like I was 2 hours off the coast of Miami, rather in the Bahamas or a secluded island. It was a perfect getaway.

My blogger & photographer friend Donna came along and snapped these awesome pictures for me...and check out her drone footage.

All in all, it was a phenomenal trip. I hope you feel a little warmth after browsing through this post and you are encouraged to get up and sail away... Take time for yourself. Fulfill your desires! Try to take a vacation, or staycation like I did. I know, its easier said than done. But why work and work without any play? We live in a beautiful world- with air to breathe, water to drink, the sun to feel, oceans to swim in, and sunsets to watch. Don't miss out.

  1. The perfect event starts with an extraordinary location. Whether you are dreaming of a grand entrance on a mountaintop vineyard estate, or an intimate gathering of family and friends at a seaside villa, good managers, like those at this event space are able to turn that dream into an extraordinary wedding.
