Week 2

The mermaid has got my back.
I snapped this bright and early Monday morning, little did I know what all the next 7 days would have in store...

Check it all out :)

I work in the flatiron district and I can't complain about the views!

I TOTALLY stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a class at 305 Fitness. All I can say: it was awesome! Nothing like I could have expected or can explain. Not only was I dripping sweat, but my cheeks were sore from smiling and laughing the entire class! It puts you in a great mood, to say the least.

If it's your first time you get two classes for the price of one!
They have lockers, face wash, deodorant, lotion, everything a girl could need.

  Even if
you're sceptical
about dancing
 as a workout
(which I was) at least
go and check
out the locker
rooms. They're unreal.

Beats don't kale my vibe.
I discovered "Sweet Green" on my way home from my workout class and I definitely can't wait to go back. Fresh and huge salads!

The new Tory Sport store in Flatiron opened this past week and it looks amazing! I'm dying to get these leggings, this top, and this bikini

Confession: I ate Dough 3 times this week. I'm obsessed.

I met up with a friend from college for tapas and happy hour after work Thursday. She introduced me to this beautiful and yummy spot, Barraca
And check out her amazing artwork

Woohoo, my two best friends flew in to visit for the weekend!
We walked about 20 miles, made new friends from India, helped a proposal happen in times square, had Mexican and bottomless mimosa brunch on easter (haha) and managed to hit up 4 rooftops and even stopped by GrandCentral, rode the tram, and stopped for a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's!

We had dinner Friday night at Untitled, it was delicious and different! It is right next to the Whitney Museum, where we decided to explore after dinner! On Friday, the museum stays open late.

Breakfast at Le Pain before a day of exploring Central Park and 5th ave.

_______

The Roosevelt Island Tram is a must if you're in the city and wanting some amazing views. It works just like the subway, in that you can use a metro card, and the ride is about 5 min each way!

_______
Can't go wrong with a frozen hot chocolate.

So blessed to be in this amazing city for another week.
 Thank you for following along!

Soft & Simple

So this is just another reason why I love Palm Beach! Almost every corner, street, and via or plaza are gorgeous. I actually go to the dentist a few doors down from here.

I was able to be home in Palm Beach for about a week before heading to NYC! I did a little damage to my wallet and went all out on some new sweaters and coats to pack for the city. ______________

(now is the best time to buy fall clothing! It's all on sale! Stock up for next year.)I got this coat on sale and this one 70% off! Oh, and this sweater, this sweater, and this sweater all on sale too!
______________
So, if you don't follow me on Instagram ( where I post way too much, don't we all) I announced I was moving to NYC for 6 weeks to complete an internship at Tory Burch before graduating college in May! I'm writing this post from bed
on a Saturday afternoon.
Cozy with my chai latte.
Living on the upper west side.
...it's a dream.

"But how?" - you might ask.

It's easy to only post what you want others to see and create a perfect facade. But it's not all rainbows and butterflies every day. Here's the scoop: (and if you aren't interested in reading further, oh well).

I packed up my life at college, drove home for to spend a few days with the family, then, boarded a plane to move to chilly NYC all alone. Two suitcases.
I'm saying in a family friends studio (what a blessing) and work about 40 hours a week interning with the Merchandising team at Tory Burch. Honestly, at the end of the work day I only have enough energy to cook or grab dinner & drinks with friends, shower, and maybe do some work on the computer or sneak in an episode of Modern Family.

Life is different here. It's face paced and bright. Chilly, but beautiful. Big, but small.
I just completed my first week and I've fallen back in love.
I grew up here, lived here for 16 years, lived here this past summer interning as well, and now I'm back. But every time I'm back it's fresh & different in a cool way.

So, I decided to keep a weekly log to share with you all what living as an intern in New York City is like. I'm going to try and keep track of the places to eat, shop, sightsee, and any tips I've acquired or highlights of the week.

Check out Week One in the city HERE

Week 1

Life is different here. It's fast paced and bright. Chilly, but beautiful. Big, yet small.
I'm going to try and keep track of the places to eat, shop, workout, sightsee, and any tips I've acquired or highlights of the week.
I hope you decide to follow along and that I can help or inspire you to intern, visit, or explore the city.

Here's week uno:

The new Tory Sport store in flatiron!!

Brunch at The Smith . I got the avocado toast with poached eggs and the passion punch.
It was absolutely delicious.

A nice (and very brisk) run in Central Park! Ran to the lake and had the most gorgeous view while I caught my breath!
_____________________
Took the day to go to the Museum of Natural History and wander around the city!
_____________________

I was really excited to see this exhibit! The mahi-mahi (Dolphin) and the man-o-war jellyfish are seen in Florida. Made me think of my family and friends back home.
_____________________

You can only be so fashionable when its 30 degrees out and you walked 2 miles.
_____________________

The new Coach store in Columbus Circle is breathtaking.
_____________________

They had a craftsman shop where you can personalize anything you purchase!
_____________________

Then headed to the Plaza for tea! They have a huge eatery  downstairs with every type of food you can imagine.
I decided to have desert, even though it was already 5 pm by now!
I noticed a line around one of the pop up's so I decided to snoop and see what the hype was. Never heard of it before, but Lady M cakes are pretty popular. And now I know why... twenty paper thin handmade crepes layered with creme. It's irresistible and practically melts in your mouth.
It was my first, but definitely NOT my last!

Guys, I promise this was my genuine reaction when I realized it was SNOWING! I asked my friend to take a picture as we exited the plaza and I looked up and realized it was snowing!
