Throw some ripped denim on with a pair of heels and you're set. I love mixing casual and dressy. It may not always make "sense", but it's better to be unique than boring. Don't wear what everyone else wears. Your style describes your true self. Wear what you want.

Love this tee. Probably one of my favorites. It's a pretty cool way to blatantly tell whoever passes your way that you're different. Seeking for new worlds, fantasies, and distractions. Not held back by the tendencies of the world. Escape to whatever destination is calling you, to whoever is needing you, and to everything you want to do.

Tropical Holiday

I absolutely love vacations. It's relaxing and healing, especially when you're in warm weather and at a beach. Sand between your toes for the holidays sounds a lot better than snow. I somehow managed to make my way to the beach and hop in this perfect bikini after my Thanksgiving feast…but of course after a nap. Yes, the turkey and stuffing made my stomach happy but the ocean and sun made my heart jump.

Spontaneous travels make life worth while. Last minute drives, or train rides to destinations only known to you on the map. Old towns of brick roads and coffee shops with history etched in it's seats. Let the brisk air force your sweaters on and hot chocolate to your lips, or in this case cupcakes! Travel often, even if its only an hour trip to a place you have never been.
Set time aside and do what makes your heart happy.

Destroyed and Denim

Blazers and ripped denim make me happy. All the “ugly Christmas sweaters” and sweatpants that are unleashed once the weather cools down is shocking. People jump on the fact that the temperature now admits them to dress so tacky. Yes, I like to be comfy  when it's cold out too, but don't go out looking like that- It’s simple; trade the sweats for a cool pair of jeans and add a scarf or blazer. Fuzzy socks and reindeer sweaters are for family gatherings- not grocery shopping and Starbucks meetings.
Get out of that comfort zone and use the weather to your advantage.

That transition between summer and fall is one of the most beautiful metamorphosis’ to witness. As leaves turn, wind chills and the pumpkin spiced lattes sell out, you know fall is here. I have a hard time letting go of summer but I know that carved pumpkins and Christmas music await me. I am obviously too obsessed with bikinis to say goodbye to them for a while, so here; my last bikini post….for now. Until I escape on vacation to a warm, white sand beach. As you can see I try to incorporate bikinis however I can. Fringe is the perfect fall essential. Fringe boots, sweaters, or bikinis in my case. Goodbye summer, hello crisp air, caramel apples, and fuzzy socks.

Abbey Road

A fun tee and some chucks are the perfect way to go. Throw up your hair; use some bright lipstick and go! I’m not a huge fun of taking a long time to get ready. Simplicity is beauty. I spent an hour in Sephora walking in circles because I wasn’t sure how, why, or what to buy and use. We must defy the norm of artificial appearances. Make-up only enhances our true beauty. Next time, loose the extra mascara and foundation, your true beauty lies within.

An empty field found at sunset is the ultimate ending to a day. Being such a beach girl, I never find myself searching for tall grass, dirt, and pine trees, rather the extreme opposite; sand, palm trees, and waves. However; adventuring and stepping out of your comfort zone can lead you to find the most glorious spaces and achieve a life full of knowledge. Free spirited and arms open I encountered true bliss. Take that time you need to reward yourself with excitement and enrichment. Your life deserves a ripple in the repetitive and ordinary days.

The one and only

Let me start with the first, somewhat typical, question; what was the inspiration behind starting your
I wish I could say I had a big inspration/defining moment, but it all started as a creative outlet. One night at a coffee shop in Diamond head (I even remember the A/C was blaring and I was freezing) I switched a few posts over from a blog I had on my professional website...and alas, Goldfish Kiss began...and has been evolving ever since.

What is the story behind the creative and fun name ‘Goldfish Kiss’, and how does it relate to your
It’s simple. The very first bikini I owned, the top was two goldfish kissing. My mom had great taste in bikinis for 2 year olds.  I really don’t like goldfish that much, I mean they are cool, but it’s more about the bikini. If only we didn’t throw it away!

Your brand stays true to cool beach style. Do you ever feel restrained by not incorporating designer
bags, runway outfits and the like as other mainstream bloggers do?
Nope. I enjoy taking my own pics, and doing my own thing, and making the blog a bit personal, which for me will usually have that beach vibe. What’s on the runway really isn’t all that interesting to me. I mean it’s cool, and the clothes are gorgeous, but I really can’t relate to super high fashion all that much, so writing about it would seem fake. However, if Celine wants to send me a $5,000 beach bag to review I’d probably say yes (wouldn’t anyone?)...and then never use it and keep it in it’s bag because I’d be scared of ruining it. But I really don’t feel isolated or restrained, I feel like I’ve just stuck to my guns, which I hope is refreshing to readers.

Aside from bikinis, what is something you can’t live without? Being close to the water!
Being close to the water! Ok and soft t-shirts. I am a soft, vintage, t-shirt hoarder...and I work from home so that’s my uniform. Ok, and fresh flowers. It’s amazing how much they can change the mood of a room.
Should readers expect a change in your content or lifestyle after moving to Seattle?
The content will be similar, but the scenery will be different. So less white sand, palm trees and turquoise water, but there are some amazing beaches out on the coast here in the Pacific North West for pics, as well as hot springs, and I can do my art in any location. I’ll still be traveling back to Hawaii from time to time. But, I’m noticing I get more into my posts and inspired if it’s something I did a day or two ago, instead of a month or two ago. So far it seems to be working well. And yeah, minor detail... I’ll be clothed a bit more in pics now too.

You’re a big promoter of fitness. What is your best advice to women on how to stay fit, classy, and
Oh man I could turn this into an essay.
Step 1: Do not compare your body to anyone else. You are you, and should want
to be the best you. So take down all of those fitspo/thinspo pics and focus on taking
                         care of you.
Step 2: Do some sort of weight training. It’s crucial to bone density...and having a good butt.
Step 3: Mix it up. I love trying out new moves in the gym, new programs, new
recipes, and new classes. Plus it keeps you motivated and from burning out.
Step 4: Drink a lot of water each day. It’s the simplest easiest thing you can do for your health.

Blogging has become popular and a profession for so many people these days, how do you
differentiate yourself and what is some advice to a new blogger on how to stand out?
I don’t know if there is a golden formula for blogging, heck I am still figuring it out each day. But I guess my advice would be to...actually start the blog. It’s not like starting a job or anything. Just start the darn thing, and post consistently. Then, be sure to write about what makes you, you, what makes you tick...and have fun with it. That person who started a tumblr all about fake text messages between him and his dog. Freaking brilliant. I really don’t follow that many blogs, but I go and read that site whenever I need a laugh. If you aren’t having fun, then why are you doing it in the first place? I tell myself that from time to time. Then I go post a pic of an ice cream cone or something.

What i

Travel. One word can mean a thousand things and a million places. Travel expands your knowledge while opening your eyes to a world you never knew existed. Do not be afraid of the unknown, but yet inviting to the language barriers and radical cultures. It is a gift to explore...to wander. Not everyone may find joy in one bag packed with items to last you through a month, or old plane tickets crumpled up between spaces in your wallet, but I do. It gives chills to an escapist and hope to the lost.
Get up. Go.

Summer to me means something completely different than it does to you. Summer is my life, obviously. My definition of Summer: Hair gets lighter, skin gets tanner, nights get longer, water gets warmer, people are happier, bonfires get brighter, sunsets last forever. Summer is not just a season; it is a lifestyle. Packing those sweaters away under your bed in exchange for bikinis is exhilarating. Knowing your ghostly stomach will finally see the sun.  Roasted marshmallows, bright nail polish, and friends you’ve been counting down the days to see. It’s amazing how long we wait for that first day of summer to arrive just to watch it flash before our eyes. Imagine going a year without summer? No break, no scorching sun, no relaxing? It’s that perfect break in the year. Don’t let your summer memories fade away. Welcome Fall with open arms; just know summer saved your life.

Bikini too tiny?

Suns out - Buns out. I guess the new trend is practically wearing thongs to the beach to get that perfect non-existent tan line. That’s great and all, especially when you have a nice behind… but spare everyone’s eyes. The beach isn’t some nudist exhibition. It’s a safe haven, a place to relax, exercise, read; a place for families and fun. Wear something that leaves you with a nice tan line, not a line of boys drooling and moms blushing. Keep it classy, cover up that tushy. And don’t forget…soak up that sun, rinse of that sand, and feel the energy and relaxation after your escape. Let the salt linger on your skin and the sun illuminate from your face.
